When is that happening?

Today we used our gmail (gmail.com) account to create and share a calender.

Here is my calender.

We first created the calender.  It was very simple to do, we just clicked on calender.  Then we added an event for next Tuesday when we don't have class.  That was also very easy.  All you have to do is click on the date that you want to add an event to, once you do that a little blurb will pop up and you just type in the name of the event.  You can then edit the event (change the time, add details, location, and reminders) just by clicking on the event and then clicking on edit event.  The last thing we did was change the settings so that calender would be public.  We clicked on the arrow beside the calender label on the left and clicked on share calender.  Once that window popped up we changed the setting to share and save the changes.  Below that was a square that had the HTML code to embed the calender.

This related to Standard 3. c. "communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats."  This lesson showed me how I can use google calendar to share information with others about upcoming events or deadlines and how I can use it to manage my own life and myriad of things that are going on.
