The organization that I had book marked in Diigo was the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portugues. The next conference will be held in July, 2011 in Washington DC. The conference is titled "Spanish and Portuguese for a New Era: Advocacy, Policy and Programs". The website doesn't talk about what will be the specific topics discussed, but it does say that there will be over 200 sessions and workshops.
We also used Diigo (diigo.com) to book mark the site with the information. The link to my Diigo library where the bookmark can be found is in the link list on the right hand side of the page.
Standard 5. d. "contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching profession and of their school and community." This activity made me more aware of the conferences that are available.
