I'm sure we've all, at one point or another, taken some sort of personality test. It may have been one on Facebook that promised to tell you what color you were or a more serious one that would tell if you had the temperament necessary to work at certain job.
I'm no different. I've taken several of these tests in my life. I've seen them in emails, on Facebook, in magazines, and even in my college classes. As far as I can recall I've never taken one that's given me results that were completely off the wall. Usually I'll read the descriptions at the end, and think, "Well, that does sound like (or kind of like) me." In spite of the success I've had with them, I've still never given these tests a huge amount of merit. They've never dictate my choices. Sometimes, though, they can help you learn something about yourself.
The Keirsey personality test (http://www.keirsey.com/sorter/instruments2.aspx?partid=0) tests your personality to see which of four types (artisan, guardian, idealist, and rational) yours falls into. After reading the descriptions of the four types, I ranked the likelihood of having that temperament as follows:
1. Idealists
2. Guardian
3. Rational
4. Artisan
Now I just have to go take the test and see if I know myself as well as it does.
