Drum Roll Please....

The results are in, and...

I am an Idealist.

My guess was correct.  From this I would say that I know my own personality pretty well.

Knowing my personality type and the characteristics that goes with it can help me in several ways.  I know that as a teacher I can use the enthusiasm that Idealists have to get my students excited about learning.  It helped me to see some areas that I probably am strong in, which also reveals areas that I'll be weak in.  As an Idealist I seek to collaborate with others to get things done, not run over them.  Also I seek to minimize conflict.  This may result in me being willing to compromise to achieve a goal when I should stick to my guns.  Because I know my strengths and some resulting weaknesses I'll be better able to watch out for them and then compensate.

This assignment related to technology standard 1.a: "promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness."  It helped me to think about my personality type and different ways that knowing this information will effect my daily life and career.
